Utah State Parks with cabins are the best! Nine state parks have cabins by a lake, that you can rent to have a hybrid-type camping trip experience. But not only that option, similar to that, you could try a Yurt, Conestoga Wagon, RV, or a Teepee! Some of these commonly referred to as "Glamping" - what do you think of that word?

Each Utah State Park with a lake, has their own particulars. (NOTE: Pets/Smoking not allowed in yurts, cabins, wagons, or RV.)

How does it work?

CABIN - Sleeps up to 6, ranges from $55-$130/night. ADA available. Renting Details>

YURT - Sleeps up to 6, goes for $100-$130/night. ADA able. Renting Details>

CONESTOGA WAGON - Sleeps up to 4, goes for $100-$130/night. Renting Details>

RENT A GLAMPING RV - Sleeps up to 8, goes for $100-$130/night. Renting Details>

TEEPEE - Available at three state parks. The teepee is already set up for you. Bring your gear inside, with room for 1 or 2 (3?). Sites allow up to 8, though. Renting Details>


Utah State Parks With Cabins on Lakes

We sort by area of the state, plus facilities available.

But we all know, I think, that cabins can be found on some of the Best Utah Lakes in all corners of the state! (Agreed?)

We note available options for times of the year, for instance winter.

Ensure please, that upon vacating, leave the cabin or alternate stay in the same condition you found it. So your deposit is returned, or not find trouble with the park's management!

Cabins have bunks/beds, table/chairs, lights/power, Heat/AC, & small fridge, & microwave. Outdoor picnic table. Many have a firepit/grill.

Bring your bedding/bath supplies, cookware/eating needs. Also a camping stove for outdoor cooking (no cooking allowed inside most stays - except in the provided microwave).


Parks North of Salt Lake City

East Canyon State Park - Summer: water on-site & nearby restrooms with showers. Winter: nearby water, vault restrooms. $100/nite Mon-Thurs, $130/nite Fri-Sun/holidays, +/deposit. Figure out Reservations>

Parks in Northeast Utah

Hyrum Lake State Park - Sleeps up to 5.

TV w/DVD/VCR. Small porch has chairs to relax with fabulous lake views! Outdoor firepit/grill. 

$80/night, +$50 refundable deposit.


Fred Hayes Starvation State Park - $65/night +$100/deposit (refundable). Site allows up to 8. One small tent allowed anywhere off the lawn. No running water in winter. Vault toilet nearby, electricity always on.

Wasatch Mountain State Park - Sleep up to 6. Winter check-in only 9am-5pm at Visitor Center. Small porch has bench. Outdoor picnic table, fire ring/grill.  Nearby restrooms. Shower available summer only in Cottonwood campground. $70/nite, +$100 Cleaning Deposit.

How To Rent>


Palisade State Park - No tents allowed on site. Small covered porch, BBQ/fire-pit & picnic table. Up to 8 at site. Two Cabin Styles:

Basic - Pinion Pine/White Pine/Bristlecone/Bear Cave/Bobcat/Eagle Nest/Badger Cabins: $80/night. ADA available. Must use campground restrooms/showers.

Deluxe - Bird/Tripp/Taylor Cabins: $100/night. Kitchenette with sink. Bathroom with toilet & shower. Note: Parking down short graveled path (except ADA unit). Be sure you can bring your equipment up this hill before renting.


Steinaker State Park - Walk in "Dippy Cabin" for up to 8. Outdoor BBQ & picnic table. Call park: 435-789-4432 for further details.


Parks in Northwest Utah

Yuba State Park- Cabins here sleep up to 8 at $75/night. Keep in mind, campground amenities in the winter can be minimal. Lakefront sites, with nice front porch. Outdoor barbecue & picnic table.


Parks in Southeast Utah

Fremont Indian State Park - Though not on a lake, it's adjacent to Clear Creek. Plus valuable history, with a museum & trails. So we thought it worth mentioning.

Off In-70, use exit 17, turning north on 4500W, then right onto Clear Creek Canyon Rd.

  • Cabins sleep up to 6. $65/night. The restroom/showers closed during winter.
  • OTHER STAYS: A pit-house rents, sleeping up to six. $65/night. How different! A modernized version of a Fremont Home. Outside firepit & picnic table. Must walk-up to access in winter. Generally, April begins drivable. They also have Teepee Sites>

Green River State Park - Sleeps up to 6 for $75/night, allowing up to 8 on-site.

Only One Cabin available at this park. North of Canyonlands National Park.

Yes, it's actually on the river, not a lake. But with boating activity from the river, & golfing, too - there's lots more to do from here. Plus Geysers nearby. They call it an oasis in the desert.

No fire-pit available, so bring outdoor camp cooking set-up. One small tent allowed on lawn.

Parks in Southwest Utah

Otter Creek/Piute State Park - On the South end of Otter Creek Reservoir.

Cabins here are lakefront & sleep 6. Shower/restroom about 100' distant. No fires permitted.

Otter Creek Park Cabin rentals are $100/night. 


Alternate State Park Glamping


Rent a Yurt in Utah

Utah State Parks with cabins have alternate rentals, like yurts. Quite popular, these unique "glamping" options have electric, small table & chair, futon & bunk bed.

What's a Yurt?

Large deck has gas grill for cooking. Outdoor fire pit. No Heat from approx. May 15-Oct 15. Eight allowed on site. ADA availability. No pets.

East Canyon State Park - $100/night Mon-Thurs, $130/night Fri-Sat-Sun/holidays. +$60 refundable security deposit. Sleeps 6.

Rent a Conestoga Wagon in Utah!

East Canyon State Park - Wagons sleep up to 4 people on king bed & twin bunks.

Has small fridge & microwave, plus little table & stools. Outside water hook-up access, picnic table, charcoal grill & firepit. 

$100/nite Mon-Thurs. $130/nite Fri-Sun/holidays, +$60 security deposit. 


Native Style - Rent a Teepee

Typically Not Available During Winter

Fremont Indian State Park - Tenting style site near the creek, allowing 8 people. Teepee set up for you (room for 1 or 2), but add your own tent (accommodates approx. 8x8 to 10x10 size) on the dirt pad. Fire pit & picnic table. Dogs allowed on-site here. Two Teepee sites available.

Scofield State Park - Up to 8 people allowed by your Teepee (more suitable inside for about 1 or 2 - maybe 3?). At the lakeside, with a picnic table. Two Teepee sites available.

Red Fleet State Park - Similar to the others, two are available. $30/night for the site, mid-April thru mid-Oct. Short distance from Red Fleet Reservoir. For further site details inquire here: 435-789-4435. Northeast Utah.


Stay in a Utah RV Rental

Camping at its Finest! 2 bedroom Camping Trailer, with bathtub/shower. Heater/fireplace, kitchen. Outdoor picnic table, covered pavilion, fire-pit. No pets/smoking.
